First Gem from Sabatini to Roma

Sabatini usually does it perfectly. His contacts, promises and eyes for youth deliver. He has seen something in Lamela that he has flown to Argentina to have talks with agents. Reportedly it is a 12 million deal, with the player getting a million per year salary. Nothing is official till now, but things look quite positive.

At the age of 19, Lamela definitely looks to be a long term prospect. Playing as a treqaurtista, he will be able to gain valuable experience from maestro Totti. It also points out that Roma will be entering into a new era looking to brighten their future. This news has cooled down Pastore prospects as well.

Erik Lamela is a natural left foot. Playing as a classic trequartista, he could play in wider positions as well. He has a left foot for set pieces and hence he’s an important player for River Plate at the time. So a nice start to mercato if it is official. The player has energy, talent and vision. He's got that never back down attitude. He could be a master stroke as he has proved with his time at River plate. Breaking into first team just 8 months ago, he has cemented his place as a key player. He has got it all to be a big name.

Last week, Chelsea sacked Ancelloti. He revealed that he would love to remain in England even if he has to manage a 2nd division club. It’s painful to see, but if Ancelloti doesn’t come now, he should never come! It is the perfect time to make a new start with his beloved Roma.

Carlo Mazzone, the Roman legend, has also backed Ancelloti to be the new coach for Roma. He revealed that the former Chelsea and Milan boss will be best as Roma have new aims and objectives. The club icon Totti has also called for Ancelloti to be the man for the job.

In another news, Juventus signed Andrea Pirlo on a free transfer from Milan. I hoped that he would have joined Roma as his experience and style of play along with De Rossi could have given a new dimension to the midfield.

Some videos for Lamela, and hope we see him in Giallorosso colours.

Forza Roma
